Saturday, March 16, 2024
At this event, attendees had the opportunity to learn various collaging techniques from the mixed-media artist, Zandra "UNKWNZJ" Jack at Lost & Found Gallery. She guided attendees through the process of creating your own unique masterpiece using a wide range of materials, including magazines, newspapers, scissors, and glue. The outcome will reflect UNKWNZJ's distinctive style.
Zandra "UNKWKNZJ" Jack is a Toronto-based mixed-media/digital artist and designer who goes by the name "UNKWKNZJ". With a passion for altering geometric and curvilinear forms, Zandra's artwork is an explosion of dynamic emotion. Her pieces feature enlarged and emphasized features as a play on the stereotypical larger-than-life depiction of Black features, resulting in a vibrant celebration of Black culture.
As an artist, UNKWKNZJ is constantly evolving and pushing herself to new heights. Her innovative approach to mixed media and digital art is a testament to her talent and dedication. Each new piece she creates challenges the status quo and inspires others to explore their creativity and artistic potential. UNKWKNZJ’s eye-catching style is unique and captivating, with a focus on questioning modern beauty standards. Art is a form of therapy and meditation for her, and she enjoys getting lost in the process. Her rejection of traditional standards, composition, and design results in a diverse and exciting body of work.
